Folks,
I learned recently, thanks to a member's posting, that the Carlisle
Import Car Show will be held in Sept. next year instead of the May date
that has, for me, been a ritual since it started.
I think this stinks!
Why have they changed what has become one of the biggest, best supported
events in the year?
Lately, they have added more to this show like the "Kit Car" folks.
Wasn't too happy about that but really didn't effect the good stuff
going on in the aisles. They came to show their cars, not rummage
through the mud and mire.
Having this show in the spring makes sense. You come out of the winter
chomping at the bit to scrounge through thousands of British parts boxes
people bring to sell. You always hear the stories of the great finds
people make and you get the pieces you needed to get your cars ready for
the summer.
SEPTEMBER? Doesn't make sense to me.
What I'm wondering is, if others of you who support, and who are the
people who turned this event into such a success, told the misguided
folks of Carlisle Productions to not change this date, would they
listen?
We won't know unless we try. I for one will be sending them a message
that September doesn't work for me. What do you folks think?
Cheers,
Dave Houser
