Last Sunday I took my Significant Other to the Chicago British Car Swap
Meet. I had originally planned on making it in there in the morning, but
the evil Mr. Tequila changed my plans for me.
It was my first swap meet, so I am unable to compare and contrast, but I
was able to find something to buy. I've always wanted a OE jack, and picked
one up for $5. A can of spray paint later, it looks new. I had hoped to
find a set of mini-lites for spline-drive hubs, but no such luck. I almost
bought a hard top for $100, but it looked like it was missing some critical
parts.
I was able to finally meet Barney Gaylord, and I even introduced my SO to
the slightly abrasive Ed Kaler. In fact, she pointed out his booth before I
saw it (now how did she know it was his?!?)
After the meet, the SO and I took the MGB to downtown Naperville in
pursuit of food. Afterwards, she drove the MG back home. There's something
about a pretty blonde driving a bright red convertible with the top down
that just makes me smile.
