I managed to buy an OD Tranny today and drive it home!
I got a '70 BRG BGT today. (The BRG is Badly Rusted and oxidized Green)
The hood is damaged, the sills are rusted out, the seats are torn up,
the wind shield is cracked, might need a valve job, and that isn't even
the best of it.
It has an OD tranny, Weber downdraft carb, chrome exhaust header, good
wire wheels with good rubber, it has been converted to tube shocks, as
a dealer installed A/C, the head isn't cracked, has all functional
gauges, has a screw on adaptor for the oil filter and the steering
wheel looks better than mine on my '70 roadster.
I have a parts car with lots of goodies. He also threw in 2 other
webers, a set of rear window panes, a few alternators, the correct
split rear bumpers and a near new dash he pulled off of a car in a junk
yard MANY years ago.
All this for $500.00 I am feeling like it was great deal. And I
found I liked driving a GT. Looks like I am going to get rid of my '84
Toyota and get something older! (This GT has lots of good parts, but
the body is just too far gone to justify repair, looks like my roadster
is going to get another injection of new life from a donor.
