I just got through with a go around on a spin-on adapter for my 56 MGA,
engine #1444.
The adapter fit fine but I couldn't find a oil pipe that runs from the
block to the adapter that would fit. Barney was kind enough to send one
that he thought might fit and it didn't fit either(saved me a lot of
money). My oil pump was the old type that's no longer available but
everyone I talked to thought one of two types of pipes should fit. Both
pipes would have required enough bending that I would have worried about
reducing the oil flow but most importantly I don't think I would have
ever got a tight, no leak fit. I ended up fabricating a setup from a
custom high-pressure tubing outfit for about what a new pipe would have
cost but it's not the least bit as natural looking as the original would
have been.

I would like to know this one as well. Is there an adaptor for the
screw on types that are used on later cars that I can replace my system
with? (I have a '70)
