Hi, Carl.
I would have thought that on a '67, you would have a sliding joint, just
behind the O/D. If so, just unscrew the collar and unplug the front U/J with
the engine. Mark it first to maintain the relative alignment and keep the
balance. If necessary, you could also hoik out the rear end with the axle.
IMHO, you could cut the rear end bolts but rather than cutting across, I
would suggest using a Dremel (plus about 15 HD fibre discs) to cut a slot
down from the nut end, so that the nut falls in two. At a pinch, you might
manage this with a slitting disc on a mini angle grinder.
Above all, take great care not to nuke the rear U/J coupling. You can
replace the joint but the coupling is a different kettle de poisson.
