I refer to Graham Robson's collector's guide. 
Unless I'm misreading the text or he's misinformed, he clearly states: 
"....from the beginning of the 1975 model-year, the later Laycock LH 
overdrive was fitted....."

What I passed on to you were a few years' exposure to prices while poking 
around for my own elusive early OD.
Admittedly, I may be using incorrect designation. My undersanding was "LD", 
it could very well be "D".
