I use anti-sieze _lubricant_ on my wheel splines. It hasn't washed
out yet. I have to use a petroleum-based solvent to wash it off when I
redo them every few months. The silver-colored Prestone stuff doesn't
show as much as the KW copper on the painted wheel when it leaks thru
the spoke holes.
I also use the stuff on my plugs, sparingly. Dunno about that
business of chasing the plug threads. I guess it's OK if the threads
are clogged or otherwise messed up but I wouldn't do it every time I
changed plugs.
I have the factory service manual for the 280 Z I used to own, which
had an aluminum cylinder head. No mention of chasing plug threads or
using anti sieze in the section on changing plugs. For anyone with an
alloy head: it did say to tighten plugs to 11 - 14 ft. lbs.
