I disagree strongly with the "don't touch it" tone of that email.
A careful and studious owner can do more for a car than any
garage can.
There are very few garages left that know how to deal properly
with an MG, and they don't have the time to study manuals and
ask list members before they attempt the job.
Working on these cars is a large chunk of what makes
ownership enjoyable. And besides, nobody can know your
car like you can.
