I don't see how an exhaust tip would have any effect on the sound (except
conceivably a downturned one could make it quieter). That said, my B
sports a subtle chrome tip about 1.75 inch diameter with the end cut off
at a jaunty 45 degree angle. This cost a couple bucks at Kragen. Slips
over the stock pipe and secures with a set screw.
You seem to be thinking of a resonator. Not much room for that behind the
stock muffler (about 2-3 inches of space, as I recall). My Barracuda has
massive resonator tips with rectangular outlets (from J.C. Whitney), and
it makes a wicked, sub-audible rumble; but these guys are about 6 inches
in diameter and maybe 15 inches long, and there's no way one would fit
under a B. Other varieties are available, but they are all longer than
would fit behind the stock muffler placement.
