I just have to say I am in complete agreement on both points. And it
seems that current high-performance, ABS-equipped braking systems only
encourage the former practice. Around here the grocery-getting and
kid-schlepping is frequently done in Volvo S70s, BMW 740s, Lexus GS400s,
etc, all at a high rate of speed. I remember my grandmother had that bad
habit, but she was driving a drum brake Plymouth Valiant -- max V and max
G were both considerably less.
