Does anyone have an opinion about or experience with B engine crank
vibration dampers. I was looking at mine the other day (30+ years
old-3main engine) and was wondering if, after all that time, the
rubber craps out (hardens, breaks). How important is the damper to
engine longevity and smoothness? This may be a moot point for
5-main engines, as new ones are NLA, but, since they are available
for early 3-main engines, is this worth renewing?
The Mini-Mania sales flyer makes mention of the damper on A-engines,
and talks about potential bearing damage w/o a good damper...don't
think its creative copywriting 'cause they have a crate of NOS
dampers to shift, but who knows...
