Biased and un biased = spring loaded mount and non-spring loaded mount
lift your piston with your finger through the carb throat (filter removed)
lightly try to move the needle with you finger.
if it moves at all it's probably biased (or very very loose and about to fall
out)
The un-biased needle is a 'set screw fixed in place' needle
the biased needle uses a spring mount '

I was looking at leaner needles for my carbs on my 71 and I noticed that
TPMG had biased and normal needles listed. I just had my carbs rebuilt
two or three years ago and I don't know which I have; is there a way to
tell by looking? Also, what is the difference between the two, and which
might be better living at 6000 feet.
