We all know our LBC's are fun to drive, cheap to maintain, and have
soul. BUT, the SO and family demands another type of daily driver.
For that other car I am considering a Mercedes Benz C class.
Some of the reasons:
-I am prepared to spend up to $20K. I can buy a new fully loaded
Taurus, Lumina, Malibu, etc. that will be worth about half that this
time next year. Or I can buy a '94 or '95 C220, C230 or C280, for
about the same thing.
-I like 4 bangers. Call me odd, but I don't see the need for
overpowering a simple family car. For this series of cars M-B started
with the 2.2 then moved to the 2.3. They also offered the 2.8 for
those that demanded six. They currently turbocharge the 2.3, but I
have no interest in that car. All have the same body style and size.
-They come with all the bells and whistles, so you never really have to
settle.
-They always seem in demand, and do not 'age' as quickly.
My questions for the list are: does anyone out there have any reason
that she and I should not be wed? Speak now or forever hold your
peace. Should I avoid the 2.2 just because they replaced it with the
2.3?
And, no, to all that were wondering, the MG stays in the stable. She
can never be replaced.
