MG's in western Canada

I just came back from a week's vacation in Western Canada (Vancouver, 
Whistler, and Victoria).  I must have seen at least a dozen MG's (mostly B's) 
riding around--all appearing froma distance to be in excellent shape.

Was there some kind of special event going on last week, or did the locals 
just feel like showing off their vehicles?

By the way, I also saw many other classics (such as old Mustangs) around.
