I had the same problem when I rebuilt my 1500 engine. To fix things, I
took the line off that goes from the block to the oil filter, poured about a
half cup into the block, and gave it a shot of compressed air to prime the
oil pump. I then turned the engine over about 30 seconds and had oil
pressure.
