I have a friend who bought an early SHO to replace his wrecked (not by
him) Alpine. Now he dreams of putting that motor in an LBC. This is the
3.0 V6, I think it has 200 HP (180 at the wheels), and there are lots of
performance parts available. The problem starting with a front-drive-only
engine is that you don't have any simple transmission options.
Matt Pringle had this to say:
>Anybody thought about the Yamaha 3.4l V-8 that Ford put in the Taurus
>SHO? I think it was about 225 bhp and 225 lb*ft.

>Don't know what the redline is but given Yamaha's propensity for
>motorcycle engines, I suspect is high, at least for an 8 cylinder.
