Flywheel Sizes for MGB

Can anyone on the list tell me if there is more than one size of flywheel
for an MGB engine?  I got a one from a friend that was supposed to fit my
1980 B engine but it won't fit with the starter installed.  The diameter of
the wheel, including the ring gear, is 12 3/4 inches.  It looks to me as
though the wheel is about 1/4 inch too large for a proper fit.
