At one time, my 2 uncles had approximately 30 MGAs- roadsters, coupes, maybe
even a twin-cam or 2, I'm not sure. This was back in the early 80s, our
manufacturing plant was still small and the plan was to restore these cars,
making many of the parts in-house. At the time we were also making components
for the telecommunications industry and this end of things really took off.
The MG project fell by the wayside, as we are now one of Lucent's largest
wireless suppliers. Back in the early 90s the whole kit and kaboodle was sold
to another group who intended to do the same type of thing with the cars. My
cousin did manage to grab one of the roadsters, but he has yet to do anything
with it. As for me I didn't speak up, and the cars were gone, but I really
love my 63B. My uncle still has his 62 1600 Mk.2-he has owned it for at least
25 years, maybe longer.
