Yann - I had an auto (not MGB but same box) with similar problems after
grounding the gearbox sump. Specialist told me it had probably stirred up
some muck from the bottom which had got in the governor. He described how
to get at the governor which is right at the back and was accessible without
removing the box from the car (Reliant Scimitar). After a very short while
it cleared itself anyway.
