Hot brakes

Hi,

is it normal for the brake rotors to get too hot to touch after a short, say
20 minute, drive?

I just changed the rotors and pads on my '69 MGB, and of course I pay close
attention to them just now, but I never checked to see how hot they got
before.

They don't seem to be binding when the car is rolling along, and they
certainly work to stop the car, so am I worrying unnecessarily?
