I love my fold-down top! I have seen the "pack-away" users standing in
the rain trying to put the top up, whereas I can just stop at a set of
traffic lights and have the top up before they turn green... no, I have
never tried to put it up while driving :-)
When it stops raining... just throw it back again without even getting
out of my seat (yes, I stop further down the road to make sure it is
sitting down neatly behind the seats... but that is purely a cosmetic
thing).
