Actually, you made an honest mistake. That could have happened to anyone.
I drove a car to have it e-checked today with plates that have been expired
for 15 days. I had to put a new gas tank in the Cavalier cause the old one
was leaking. I drove it with expired plates to the test and then to the DMV.
I was lucky. You had the three day tag. Here is my advice to you. Go
and plead not guilty. They will plea bargain you to a lesser penalty. Take
the papers and show that you had paid for the 3 day tag. To forget to fill
them out is a mistake, not a criminal offense. You are not guilty and you
need to stand up for yourself. They will work with you and you will walk
away from this and will never forget to complete the dates again. Keep
your chin up and save the jail space for the criminals!
