Okay here's new puzzlement. How could I have been so dim? I'd like to think that I was just tired, but... Thanks to Peter for pointing out why my pseudo leakdown test wouldn't work (one-way valve in compression tester). Sheesh. Well, at least my compression tester holds pressure!
