| Larry, If memory serves me, the battery boxes are not integral to the body. If you take a look underneath, you'll find that the both box assemblies are spot-welded to the underside of the rear cockpit shelf..........so go ahead and remove them, they aren't structural. In truth, though, they do add a SMALL amount of stiffness to the shelf itself.......but you won't be putting any 300 lb cooler back there anyway.
