Larry: Page 112 of How to give your MGB V8 power, mentions the difference
in stiffness between rubber and chrome bumper shells, as related to battery
boxes. I wouldn't cut the boxes out, if you start winning races some twit
is going to complain and what about support for the roll cage ?
You might find that a tube type axle assembly is preferable, in order to get
the ratios needed (MGC) ,depending on straightaway length.
