The bgt suddenly the tach went wacky &it lost all power & would not restart.
So i walked 2 1/2 till someone from work picked me up of coarse it was raining
after all i live near seattle. The car has been acting up lately it would not
idle & missed sometimes. So afterwork ( yesturday this happened) I had put a
used ford coil out of my newest b ,this cured the previous no idle run rough
ploblem. So i thought the coil had died so i got a new one it didnt help the
points wernt opening so i ajusted them & away iwent for 1/12 miles till it did
it again. This time i reajusted the points it started right up Then ran badly
again, so i double cheched they wereclosed again bye now it was gettin to be a
hour1/2 till dark the road was very desolate the wife was with me so i did not
have to walk. We flagged down a cop who called a tow truck So its home & yes
David i tipped him he was really cool. So tonite i put in the old dizzy that
worked well in my 76. So i put in a proven dizzy & a NEW coil get it started
set the timin & boom it runs great!! i let it run 10 min or so & went for a
test drive the car worked great till i turned around it started missing At
3500 -4000 in 3 gear it started buckin & backfirng i barelly made it home. Oh
by the way the bushings in the old dizzy were junk it wobbled really bad! The
timing is still right on the dwell is within spec when it runs it fires up &
almost dies right away it spits & backfire as it turns over only sometimes
Any ideas ??????
