Andy,
Towing it with the driveshaft either connected or disconnected would seem to
cause the end of life as we know it. Furthermore, towing it backwards would
seem to case even worse problems, IMHO the solution is clear.
Tow it sideways, no one has yet to post anything bad about sideways towing.
