While I agree that the most likely suspect is air in the hydraulic lines,
I'd have to ask if there's a chance you put the clutch disk in backwards. I
don't know how an MG would react to this, but in general, the center hub
(where the input shaft connects) is offset, and may be interfering on the
flywheel.
I really hope this isn't it.
