  Well stated Neil and more than I've ever taken the time to write.  I
wonder if any of these people know that the automatic overdrive
transmissions now available on most cars and some trucks in the States
were in answer to the Federally mandated fleet-economy rules for each
manufacturer's vehicles.  Would any of the big 3 auto maker's spend all
that development dough on something that didn't work?
