OVERDRIVE HELP!

just had a new tranny w/ overdrive put into my previously 
"overdriveless" 64b and now it makes a low grade metal like whining 
sound (the more rpm's the more whining, but less whining when overdrive 
is engaged). go figure...
any insights, suggestions, etc...are greatly needed/appreciated
the od/tranny work great otherwise, but she is a daily driver and i want 
to keep her that way
