Hello all,
Well it finally got warm enough in MN for my garage heater to get me above
freezing. And for it to do that in Feb. is a real treat, so I thought I
better make the most of it. When I purchased my C last summer I had noticed
some light surface rust on the top of the floorpans. The interior was also
in very rough shape. Knowing floorpans can be a problem area I wanted to
nip this one before any real damage had occured. So I spent the day gutting
the interior. To my delight there where no additional surprises to be found
only light surface rust. Next weekend will be sanding and painting time,
so in preperation I have a few questions for the vets.
1. I removed all of the factory sound absorbtion material as to get to all
the rust. After I paint everything would anyone suggest treating the floor
with any type of undercoating material or somthing of that nature or should
I just leave it? I will be putting that Heat Sheild material down under
the carpet.
2. I had to remove the rubber rocker covers, they where half gone any way.
Where the rubber covers the only way that they came or could you get them
carpeted? The reason I ask is my new interior kit came with carpet for the
rockers. I don't know which way to go.
3. Is there an easier way to remove the old carpet snaps? I dont think I'm
going to use them with this new interior.
Thanks
