Greetings, all:
My engine block is hanging on the stand about as far from running as
it's
been since it was cast. The only things left in it are the cam shaft and
oil pump. The latter is the problem.
I have both rotors and all three studs out, and the damn thing won't
budge. I've tried tapping it with a persuader (er, hammer) prying with
anything that will pry and pulling with every ounce of strenght I can apply
to it (it's hard to grab...).
Anyone have any creative ideas on how to get this thing out of there?
Have is missed a step somewhere? I assume the gasket has just turned to
glue after 32 years, but is it safe to jam a screwdriver between it and the
block and pry? I don't know what else to do with it.
TIA,
-Matt G.
