Maggie, the 74.5 RB MGB, is alive and well and exhibiting all kinds of
peculiarities. Replaced her soft top yesterday with the hard top because
it takes less space to store the soft top (need a windshield frame latch,
anyone have one, or suggestions?), and fiddled around with some odds and
ends.
Wiring is goofy (intermittent operation of guages and turn signals),
needs new brake hoses and adjusting of the brakes, need to
rebuild/replace the clutch slave and mc, interior needs a good cleaning
and seats, top off the shocks, etc, etc, etc.
I'm pretty darned pleased, all in all....
In re the clutch, though: release is soft and gradual, almost like an
automatic. I haven't checked to see if the brakes are dragging yet, but
that is somewhat what it feels like. No hesitation or stalling, and the
pedal pressure feels ok (I plan on rebuilding the clutch hydraulics
because there was no fluid in the MC whatsoever when I picked her up, but
she's held fluid since then). Any ideas?
