Norm,
Sounds like you've got a transmission with speedo drive gears for a 1280
rev/mile speedo driving a 1000 rev/mile speedo. This is due to the drive
gear ratio in the transmission. The angle drive won't do you any good, I
believe it's a 1:1 ratio. What you will need is a) a speedo that's the
correct size for your dash that's been calibrated to 1280 rev/mile, or b) a
gear correction box from a speedometer calibration shop, or c) the correct
drive gear in the transmission.
