The answer is simple. Get a hard top for winter. Back in the dark ages when
I was thin, dumb, and happy, I had a Bug-eye as my only car. After all, they
weren't anything special then. One accessory I was glad I bought was the
hard top. It made the car so warm in the sloppy, cold Chicago winters that I
had to modify the heating system to be comfortable. 

BTW, I'm now fat, dumb, and even happier because I drive an MG.
