The main difference between the HC and LC engines is in the pistons. The LC
pistons have quite a dip or depression. There are other differences that
come into play in the 18V engine series but that was the initial change in
1971.

When I did my overhaul, I replaced the pistons with the standard HC (9:1)
pistons. The depression was not as pronounced.
