Mike: Are you a stickler for originality? If not I recommend that you convert
to a mechanical gauge. Also, if you are still using the vertical cannister oil
filter I would also convert to a later spin on type. I recently restored my
'69 rdstr. and did both. I found a good used mech. gauge ($15), I had the
copper oil line left over from an old parts car, and I bought a new flexible
oil line for peace of mind. It all looks original and only an MG fanatic would
know the difference, and would approve the changes (unless your going for
Concours points...). The elec. sender are notorious for failing, especially
after so many years of use. I never even bothered with the one that came with
my car, I went straight for the mech. conversion. Hope this helps. Cheers,
