Ross, I believe the heater unit clips began to be painted black around the time of the switch to rubber bumpers. I have a 1974 Factory GT V-8 that still has cad plated clips, whereas a 1975 rubber bumper roadster I parted out years ago had black painted ones. It was all probably a result of BL's cost cutting efforts, the ones that gave us single row timing chains and such. Hope this helps, Paul Kile |
