We have recently powder coated an A series engine block and head in our R&D=
lab with our Mirror Black and it looks outstanding. With a temperature=
range up to 400F it should stand up fine. Remember standard engine enamel=
will only withstand 300F.
As far as other components, I have been working on a Morris Travelers and=
have powder coated EVERYTHING that is not body sheet metal and except for a=
few items that just could not be easily taken apart so they could withstand=
the cure. All suspension (except shocks), drive shaft, rear end, brake=
components, every conceivable bracket and spring..you name it I powder=
coated it.=20
We are now working on a light system to cure larger parts , which have been=
a problem with our system. It should be out this spring. I have used a=
medium sized toaster oven as a cure oven for my parts. Since the Morris is=
not a big vehicle most parts worked fine. A larger cross member was done in=
the house and other than the harassment I received from my wife it worked=
fine. I am going to get a oven from a local Kitchen remodeler who tosses=
them from jobs. They are usually no more than $50 when they charge.
As far as colors we have added several this fall. We are probably very close=
to your MG red. I will be asking some of the MG guys today. As far as the=
blacks, we have you covered. I find that our clear works very well on =
parts that were natural metal color. Another trick is to plate them with=
our electro plating kit and then clear powder the part. It will last!
The really nice thing about the process is that you can sandblast a part,=
clean it , spray the powder, hang it in the oven for 15 minutes and then=
(I don't have a shred of patience) plunge the piece in a bucket of water=
and then install it on the car. Thats instant satisfaction. The whole=
process when your setup takes 20-40 minutes depending on the size and=
weight of the parts. It really speeds up the restoration process and you get=
a better result.
I do work for Eastwood. I also restore English sports cars. I go through the=
frustrations that all of you on the list confront in a proper restoration.=
This powder coating system is the greatest thing since sliced bread. If any=
one doesn't like it we will take it back for a full refund. As a point of=
reference we have sold over 5000 this year and it is the lowest return rate=
of any new product we have introduced, ever!=20
If anyone is interested please visit our web site=

Sorry for what I am sure seems like a sales pitch, but I am really excited=
and convinced about this product. =20
