Neil,
I went through the drill of off song engine, funny timing, difficult to
set vacuum timing....etc...I did two things and cured my ills....!..i did a
valvejob on the head..had two intake valves that were not sealing 100%...2..I
checked every place on the distributor and intake manifold that could possibly
leak..and found some leaks..fixed them...now i have a well balanced twin
carbed MG that idles at 750, pulls like a train and gets about 30 MPG at 6200
ft above sealevel..and this is on 87 octane pump swill..I have never gotten my
B to time at 14 dbtdc though,..i set it without the vacuum line connected to
18 dbtdc..and it is as happy as can be.
