Sounds like a pretty good deal for a driver..... I saw a 75 last weekend
that sounds in similar condition except it will need brakes before
inspection - the ad said "best offer" so when i said "700" the guy
laughed and said he was expecting more like 5500! -
Which seems like the only price for RB cars in the state of CT these days
regardless of condition!! - I'll try to pick it up in the dead of winter
- hehe
At this point I intend to use it as a daily driver for the foreseeable
future.
Thats what we like to hear!!

75 and 76 RB cars have the same dash/instrumentation etc as 72-74 CB
cars,
The 77 "makeover" was basically so they could use Tri**ph instrumentation
and was supposedly a modernization! -the change was very pronounced on UK
cars which had the original metal dashes up to 76 - Luckily the deck
chair multi coloured fabric seats that the UK got at this time didnt make
it across the pond! (yuk!)

VB sell some sort of stick-on ersatz chrome covers as stone guards/rust
coverers! -
They cover the sills, lower front wings and doglegs
I havnt used them myself but they dont look too bad and are fairly cheap

Got a "moaner" eh?? - Oh Doug, you are a beast!!!! - My former 72 had
this a couple of years ago - turned out to be the throwout bearing - cost
me a full new clutch!

Sending units are about $8 but if i were you i'd also check the
thermostat and the radiator cap - i know the OPPOSITE problem, i.e. guage
reading low is usually a dirty connection to the block of the wire that
connects just below the thermostat cover

Well if its reading anything at all its getting juice - Im not sure if
the sending unit is the same as earlier cars but if it is my guess is the
float is stuck inside the tank
A $22 fix!
