How to mount early engine in later car

I am trying to install an earlier 5 main engine in my 79 MGB. The front
motor mounts are different. Can I put the later style front plate on the
older engine, so as to use the later mounts that are correct for the car? If
not, what do I do?

I'm very excited about getting this car back on the road after about six
months of down time.
