Dear Listers,
My '77 'B's Ignition light does not opperate. I have checked the bulb, and it
is good. I have grounded the body of the light holder, and the light stays on
when the ignition is on, regardless if the engine is running or not. I have a
new battery that puts out about 12.5 volts, and the brand new alternator is
putting out between 13~14 volts with the engine running. The only other
pecularity is that when the engine is running, the alternator is hot to the
touch.
1) Does the alternator ground itself through the Ignition light?
2) If the ignition light does not opperate, would this be the cause for the
alterator to be hot to the touch?
3) What should I look for as the cause of the faulty Ignition light?
I thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Steve Sanchez
