Starter or Silenoid??

I repalced my 79MG Midget starter and it worked for two days.  I tested the
silenoid as the manual said.  I ran a jumper wire from the battery connection
on the silenoid to the starter connection on the silenoid.  The starter did
nothing, but the jumper wires did spark.  I got spark, but no starter truning.
Will replacing the silenoid fix this or did I get a bad starter???
