Usually I figure I know most everything about the B, since I've been
driving them for over 20 years. And I've owned my current 71 BGT since 1983.

But now I'm wondering if my choke cable is correctly installed.

I met my first MG lister this weekend. Gary Davis came over, and over a few
beers, I checked the tuning of his 70 BGT. When I went back to put his air
filters back on, I had a problem putting his choke back on because it was
installed a little different. My choke cable goes under the air filters and
when engaged, pushes up on the choke linkage. His went over and when the
choke is pulled, the cable pulls the linkage up.

Normally, I would figure I am right. I had him test my linkage and it was a
little tighter pull than his was (probably partly due to my spring
tension). So I left his the way it was since it worked.

But now its been bugging me all weekend. So what do you owners of the SU
HS-4 carbs say? Up or down? Or does it really matter?
