It is true that an O2 sensor cannot provide useful information about mixture all by itself, however, there are other ways to achieve the same thing. In my home-built airplane with a nodified VW engine I used an exhaust gas temp sensor to guage the mixture accurately enough to provide peak performance and prevent the valves from burning when using AVgas. You might want to try this. |
