Same here, in the UK.  Not for the sun (or rain), but bird strikes.  Eight 
years of 
precaution finally proved worthwhile this year.  Parked outside a cider museum 
on a 
club run and returned to find a three-inch splat that would otherwise have been 
in 
the middle of my seat.
