Down in Pensacola for the MGC event my windscreen developed a crack in the
outside layer of glass. It had been subjected to high heat and humidity for
the last two days, and I thought that might be the reason for the crack. I
had gone into a shopping mall, and the glass had cracked while I was in the
mall.
In getting it repaired I asked the glass man (yes he was a person too, but
he was a man), if he could explain it. His comment was that glass sometimes
cracked because drivers would lever themselves out of the car by grabbing
the window frame. The crack was in front of the driver's position.
Any thoughts on why it would crack, or if the glass person's suggestion
could be true?
