Sorry I didn't get to meet you either, Mike. I thought it was a great show
as well! The heat was really horrible towards the end of the day, but I
was just glad it didn't rain, as predicted. I think the car that I was
most impressed with (aside from all the LBC's was that Masarati Biturbo
that won best in class. It was a beaut, and the work the owner put into it
was certainly worthy of winning. That bad boy was gleaming. And there was
also a stainless steel Jeep with kitchen, (microwave, burners, etc.)
shower, dining room, TV, rotating radar antenni, alien blaster and machine
guns for the kids to play with... A four wheel drive amusement park for the
 young and old alike.

There was a lovely A Coupe that won best in class and prolly coulda won
best in show, but the owner, who trailered it up from Tennessee was in the
Planetarium with his son... so he wasn't around for the second judging. And
I frankly thought that one of the judges was a tad on the arrogant side,
and another didn't really seem know what he was doing. I didn't quite feel
it was right to deduct points for a speck of lint in the trunk after it had
been open all day, (per instructions) and we were told to stop cleaning the
cars. Odd. IMO, I thought they looked extra hard for a defect so they
could bump him out of Best In Show.

Anyway, somehow, I won "Best Driver" for the A class even though my car
isn't a driver over the prerequisite 3000 miles per year, but I did have to
navigate the horrid Cross Bronx Expressway and the Tri-Boro Bridge, which I
thought would knock my fillings out, let alone beat the bullet connectors
senseless, so I guess that's good for a Purple Heart. I guess none of the
A class were drivers, so... call it fourth place. I didn't have all the
piece parts, (spare, jack, tools, top) so I deserved to lose lots of points
for all that. The picture placque will go on my girlfriend Jan's office
wall, since she looks a lot better'n I do in the photo anyways. (All the
time, actually. Blond hair, blue, biiig... tracts of land.)

Made several new friends, (Anthony and Eddie- two LI Centre guys had me
cracking up regularly), learned loads, and had a good time as always.
