Just a comment on this thread.... Is it just me, or does this sound like we're running out of advance here. I had a corvette once the ended up with a problem in the advance plate & weight assy, namely they didn't advance. It ran out of poop quickly above 3000-3500 rpm, sounds kind of simular. It might be worth checking that your still getting full advance by 3000 rpm ( something like 45 degrees on the crankshaft ???), someone out there probably knows more about what it should be than I do. guessing...
